Description
Standard Sand & Silica Company is seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to add to our team. We are looking for candidates who are skilled in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various types of electrical equipment. This role is responsible for proper electrical functioning of our sand processing and plant equipment, tools, and machinery. Additionally, this role will perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshoot any electrical malfunctioning, and complete appropriate repairs.
Requirements
- Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets, and assembly schematic drawings
- Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment
- Install, adjust, and repair existing production equipment
- Install new conduit, boxes, and panels and pull wire to code as needed to support equipment upgrades
- Route, label, pull, and terminate control wiring and cabling to field control devices (photo eyes, limit switches, push button stations, etc.) for conveyor and sortation systems, palletizing equipment, etc.
- Calibrate and adjust all electrical/electronic equipment according to manufacturer's specifications
- Do minor programming and maintenance for programmable logic controller based equipment
- Replace faulty parts, electrical wires, motors, controls, and circuit boards
- Test motors, generators, lighting, and power distribution systems
- Troubleshoot and repair motor controls
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices to include transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components
- Maintain and troubleshoot large horsepower motors
- Calibrate control equipment to factory specifications including flow meters, pressure transducers, temperature transducers, and vibration sensing equipment
- Test and perform preventative and predictive maintenance on motor control systems and AC/DC motors
- Troubleshoot and repair controls and electrical on heavy industrial equipment including drives and generators, up to 4,160-volt power distribution equipment
- Maintain and update an effective electrical maintenance PM program ensuring all equipment is maintained on a periodic schedule in a timely manner to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within larger renovation projects.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or areas for improvement
- Test electrical components for continuity and proper voltage readings according to specifications
- Install and maintain grounding systems for all equipment and structures
- Respond to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service among our production locations
- Account for all equipment, materials and tools on the work vehicle and job site
- Maintain all work sites in a clean and orderly fashion
- Demonstrate safe work habits and proper use and care of equipment and tools
- Duties may vary based on area of assignment; performs other related duties as required and assigned
Job Requirements
- At least 3 years of industrial experience in electrical support and maintenance functions
- Must have been employed as an electrician or electrician apprentice within the past 18 months
- Must comply with company Drug and Alcohol-Free work environment and follow all regulations including drug and alcohol screening
- Must pass background screening
- Must be knowledgeable of MSHA safety requirements, especially those related to electrical operations and components
- Ability to use tools and equipment to repair and provide maintenance while standing, crouching, stretching, extending extremities and under extreme work environments
- Must possess a valid driver’s license or be able to secure a valid Florida driver’s license at the time of employment
- Must not have had a preventable crash or a moving violation within twelve (12) months prior to making application
- Ability to see colors, ambulate independently, bend, stoop, sit, drive from work site to provide plant maintenance inspections and to lift, push, or pull up to fifty (50) pounds
- Ability to speak in a manner that can be understood and make written notations/prepare reports/perform mathematical tasks
- Ability to perform tasks that require eye and hand coordination
- Ability to plan and work from oral and written instructions
- Mechanical knowledge to understand the interaction between electrical systems and mechanical components
- Solid understanding of NEC, Arc Flash and MSHA requirements
- Overnight travel may be required
- After hours and weekend work may be required
- Must be reliable, accountable, and consistent in performing administrative processes
- Must be able to illustrate knowledge and experience of working with a lock-out tag-out system
- Must be willing and able to follow all instructed safety regulations and must always be alert and able to safely perform the essential duties of the job without risking harm to oneself or others
$65K-$80K Depending on Experience
