Job Description:
This position is meant to enhance a skilled employee’s understanding of Risk Management principles. Position is primarily responsible for performing investigative work on behalf of the Risk Management team. Duties include but are not limited to: collecting basic information from incoming claimant calls; setting up and maintaining claim information with the RMIS application; document retrieval and maintenance using external websites and internal servers; on-site response and investigation of incoming claims from Clients; correspondence with Operations team members to request, follow up, or seek clarification on information needed to track incidents.
Required to participate in after hours on-call scheduling with other members of the Risk Management team. Employees are required to wear company-provided uniform.
Minimum Requirements:
2 years minimum electric distribution service or construction experience required. Must be able to fluently read, write, speak and comprehend English. Must have a high level of attention to detail, be computer literate, and able to pass Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), General Computer, and Clerical skills test with at least an 75% in each category. Will be required to work weekends, evenings and holidays as required by on-call schedules and need for investigations.
Based on the nature of the work at Standard Utility, even if not driving company vehicles, all employees are required to have a valid Texas Driver License in good standing throughout their employment with us.
Preferred Requirements:
Knowledge of meter service construction specifications for all voltage up to 600 volts preferred. Knowledge and understanding of single phase and three phase low voltage and metering specification preferred, including underground applications. Experience using the Oncor computer applications preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Position is a combination of working in an office environment and performing field investigations. Must be able to move about in an office, including though not limited to getting about, manipulating documents, and using a computer. Must be able to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces. Must be able to move freely, including ability to stoop, crawl, and bend at the knees and waist. Must be able to lift to 35 pounds unassisted. Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing.
