JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: SPEECH & LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
Responsible To: Director of Rubino Family Center for Early Intervention
Responsible for: Providing outpatient pediatric speech therapy for children birth through eight including feeding and oral motor therapy.
- Essential Duties - Non Essential
- Serve on a Transdisciplinary team
- Provide direct and/or consultative services to children and families.
- Complete diagnostic evaluations and assessments
- Develop individualized treatment plans with goals and objectives in a warm and supportive environment
- Implement direct child intervention in a family centered program
- Be a creative member of a collaborative team including OT’s, PT’s and Speech and Language Pathologists
- Prepare written visit notes, HEP, reports, and billing a. Written strategies to reach these objectives b. Written strategies to reach these objectives c. Present current level of function
- Prepare home program; consultation with family
- Provide verbal and written communication with families, daycare, schools, physicians, etc. as appropriate.
- Provide inservice training to team members.
- Attend staff and meetings and conferences.
- Attend PPT Meetings as requested
- Safeguard human and civil rights of all children participating in programs.
- Displays overall commitment to the mission and values of STAR.
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology
State of CT License
Certification of Clinical Competence
Excellent Communications and Interpersonal Skills
Bi-Lingual in Spanish Preferred
Status: Non Exempt (part-time)
