What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accounting Associate position at STAR LINE TRUCKING CORPORATION?
Our well established trucking company located in New Berlin is seeking to hire a Senior Accounting Associate to join our Team. Perform accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions in a timely and effective manner. The position assists the Accounting Department in the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, in the preparation of journal entries, reporting, reconciliations, audit support and other month-end close duties. The Company has been around since 1961 and specializes in the trucking industry.
Responsibilities:
Sort incoming mail
Review all invoices for appropriate documentation, code with the appropriate general ledger account number, and approval prior to the AP run review.
Enter all AP invoices with detailed descriptions and correct coding
Prioritize invoices according to payment terms
Audit and reconcile credit card statements
File outstanding invoices according to payment terms
Track expense and process expense reports
Process checks request and initial proposals
Maintain and process 1099
Maintain Accounts Receivable Aging
Reach out to customers for collections and adapt payment plans accordingly
Post invoices and payments to the GL
Other special projects and duties as assigned
Requirements For Consideration
Associate Degree in Accounting or Finance
5 years of in an accounting or finance role
Proficiency in Excel
High attention to detail, good organizational skills, good communication skills, reacts well to time pressure and is motivated to learning all aspects of the Accounting Department.
Must be able to work independently and with a team in a fast paced and high volume environment with emphasis in problem solving and results.
