StarCare Specialty Health System (StarCare) is seeking a full time Dietary Aide to join its outstanding Food Services team at Sunrise Canyon Hospital.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing variety of foods/beverages (under the guidance of a licensed dietician) in a commercial health care facility kitchen.
Essential Duties:
- food and beverage preparation;
- serving meals and serving correct portions and requests for second helpings;
- oversees the cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen, and dining area, equipment, pans, dishes, eating utensils, etc.
- manages the inventory and ordering of supplies
- assist with maintaining readiness for on-site inspections;
- complete all required documentation;
- complete and maintain required training;
- assist with special projects and/or assignments as needed or requested.
Schedule: This is a full-time/non-exempt position with the following shift: To Be Discussed at Interview
with flexibility to meet the needs of the program and/or department.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Graduation from a High School or equivalent with experience in the preparation of food service in a health care facility.
- Food Handlers Certificate
Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge and skill in operating standard office equipment (phone, fax, copier, etc.) and personal computer with Microsoft Office products is also required.
- Knowledge of food handling and sanitation practices.
- Knowledge of the techniques of quantity food preparation, cooking and baking.
- Knowledge of the methods of preparing modified and calculated diets.
- Knowledge of use and care of kitchen appliances and equipment.
- Ability to analyze problems common to the position and to recommend solutions.
- Ability to read effectively and complete simple arithmetic problems.
- Ability to organize prioritizes a variety of assignments and manages time effectively.
- Ability to follow oral, detailed and written instructions.
- Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with other employees and the public.
- Knowledge of appropriate rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass a pre-hire drug screen and criminal background check.
- Must have a Texas driver's license and be insurable under the Agency's insurance.
