Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Negotiates with vendors for goods and services, negotiating the best, most appropriate, price, quality and service arrangements.
- Negotiates blanket purchase orders and monitors performance.
- Develops and recommends new supply sources when required.
- Examines bids and recommends awards.
- Establishes account/credit and terms.
- Works closely with Receiving Department to ensure proper material arrival.
- Works with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and material.
- Works with Production and Vendors to determine recovery plans when required.
- Follows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with applicable laws.
- Develops and complies with quality procedures and guidelines.
- Complies with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics/conflict of interest and information disclosure.
- Completes special projects and compiles special reports as required.
- Additional duties as required.
- Supports Supply Chain Manager as needed.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years related experience.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word required.
- Great Plains software or related experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
