What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant/Toddler Teacher position at Stark County Community Action Agency?

· Plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning activities which take into consideration the cultural, social, economic backgrounds, emotional or physical disabilities, and individual style and pace of learning to ensure a holistic and comprehensive delivery of services.

· Assist in implementing IFSPs and Child Service Plans for children with diagnosed disabilities.

· Assist in developing and implementing developmentally appropriate instructional programs to encourage parental involvement, to increase knowledge and to support parents as their child’s primary source of affection, care, and learning.

· Maintain environmental safety checklists to ensure equipment and materials are safe and operations, and supervise emergency procedures and drills.

· Conduct daily observations and health checks of enrolled children.

· Adhere to ODJFS licensing requirements, Agency Personnel Policies and Procedures and Head Start Performance Standards.

· Maintain confidentiality in all areas for children, families, staff and records.

· Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.

Skills/Qualifications:

· Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development with emphasis in Infant and toddler development and a minimum of one (4) months documented successful experience in an infant/toddler childcare environment.

· Must have demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills and organization skills. Must possess ability to seek solutions and solve problems. Excellent interpersonal, nurturing skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.75 per hour

License/Certification:

  • CPR Certification (Preferred)
  • Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
