Casa Paseo Crisis Residential TreatmentJOB SUMMARY: The Medical Records/Billing Clerk is responsible for insuring that the discharged chart is closed in the correct order, and completed. Manages all charts with deficiencies by processing them to the appropriate department for correction. Files complete charts into permanent location. Pulls charts upon request. Copy charts and mail out for Releases of Information. Handles special projects at the request of Supervisor. Duties are performed under direct supervision of the Administrator.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- One (1) year unit clerk/secretary or clerical experience in a medical setting.
- License or Certification
- Valid California Driver’s License, required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Closes medical records in appropriate chart order.
- Audits charts for any deficiency and sends to appropriate department for correction.
- Assures that medical records will be properly labeled with clients names and other required information.
- Files completed charts into final location.
- Pulls charts upon request.
- Responds to Request for Releases of Information within 14 days from receipt.
- Copies and collates required documentation from closed medical records as necessary
- Answers telephone and responds to request for Medical Records information.
- Participates in agency quality efforts.
- Generates a SIMON “face Sheet” for all new referrals.
