Personal Banker

Overview

We are seeking a customer and team oriented professional to join our Madison Office as a Personal Banker! A Personal Banker is responsible for delivering a premier customer experience that is second to none by helping out our customers with just about all of their consumer/retail banking needs!  The Personal Banker will provide new and existing customers with resources and solutions to serve all their financial needs and will work to grow relationships that are mutually beneficial for the customer and bank.  The primary responsibility for this position will be to develop and nurture customer relationships. 

Responsibilities

• Bankers are expected to achieve full banking relationships withcustomers.  Therefore, being very familiar with ALL that SBCP has to offer is paramount to success in addition to maintaining expertise of all deposit and consumer loan products and services.
• Resolve customer needs/problems/issues and provide high quality personalized service.
• Actively sell deposit and consumer loan products and services by utilizing effective sales skills including listening, being persuasive and building confidence and trust with customers and potential customers.
• Open deposit accounts for customers including but not limited to checking, savings, CDs as well as properly completing all account paperwork.
• Process transactions such as cashing checks, account withdrawals, deposits, loan payments, etc. while properly balancing and maintaining a cash drawer.
• Follow through with onboarding new customers/new accounts.
• Promote and maintain positive relations with all internal and external contacts, customers and potential customers.
• Meet established benchmarks for individual, office, and department.
• Actively participate in sales, office and staff meetings.
• Maintain confidentiality of customer information at all times.
• Participates in community involvement/bank activities.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in a related field and/or 2 years equivalent work experience in a customer services/sales environment
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to be able to interact and communicate with a diverse group of clients.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills with the ability to make good decisions
• Flexibility with the ability to adapt to an ever-changing work environment
• Willingness and ability to participate in community functions where the office is involved
• Ability to represent the organization in a professional, positive manner
• Proven sales ability

Hours for this position will be scheduled between 8:45am-5:15pm Monday – Friday at the Madison office.  Additionally, this position will work one or two Saturdays per month in Waunakee from 8:45am-12:15pm. Flexibility in scheduling may be needed on occasion.
