What are the responsibilities and job description for the AVP Deposit Operations Support Officer position at State Bank of Texas?
This position is a direct report to the SVP of Operations. The AVP Deposit Operations Support Officer is responsible for leading and directing all back-office bank deposit operations, ensuring quality customer service, employee growth and development and achievement of assigned goals and adherence to regulations, bank policy and ACH / NACHA requirements. Experience with Fiserv Premier core banking software and ACH NACHA is REQUIRED . Responsibilities :
- Oversees day to day operations of the Operations Support Department, provides guidance and manages daily operational activities to achieve customer customer service and business objectives.
- Manages Operations Support and Treasury Management personnel including training, mentoring and development; monitoring, evaluating and coaching performance; and staffing, scheduling, prioritizing, and delegating work assignments.
- Ensure compliance with regulations, bank policies and procedures as well as NACHA rules.
- Addresses and resolves complex customer service issues and employee disputes; performs and reviews tasks requiring manager level interaction.
- Performs other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.
- Treasury Management oversight, including ACH transactions including origination, return items, dispute resolution, NACHA compliance etc. Responsibilities of Operations Support Department Include :
- Wire transfer operations.
- Ensure proper daily settlement of all banking transactions including timely returns.
- Exception Item processing.
- Reconciliations of official checks, internal bank accounts, etc
- Online banking platform support including mobile banking and RDC.
- Debit card support including issuance, processing, daily transaction balancing and handling disputes.
- Research requests for customers, subpoenas, etc. on multiple platforms.
- Balancing and managing the various external vaults around the U.S. ensuring proper movements of cash to support out of area customers as well as proper cash management.
- Annual escheatment of dormant accounts as applicable laws in Texas and Illinois requires.
- Other duties and projects as assigned. Competencies Required : Experience with Fiserv Premier core banking software (Required)

- Staff Management and Coaching : 5 years (Required)
- Strong knowledge of banking regulations, back-office operation functions, bank products, policies, and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail with high concern for data accuracy.
- Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities and projects in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and deadlines.
- Solid technology skills, including ability to navigate and search websites, intermediate proficiency with Microsoft office and advanced skill with banking software applications.
- Excellent customer service, problem solving and relationship management skills with the ability to convey a positive attitude and maintain a high degree of confidentiality, diplomacy, and tact.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
- 5 years management or supervisory experience in back-office operations and / or treasury management.
