The State College YMCA is currently accepting applications for part-time Assistant Swim Team Coaches to be responsible for upholding safety rules, Y policies, and creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for swim team participants.
Primary Responsibilities
- Interact positively with members, participants, and parents. Redirect parent or participant questions or concerns to the head coach. Provide constructive feedback to swimmers.
- Arrive on time for practice, with arranged plans to provide appropriate instruction for the swim level assigned.
- Maintain an awareness of changing trends within competitive swimming and implement techniques and changes as necessary.
- Attend swim meets as assigned by the head coach.
- Be aware of and assist lifeguards in addressing safety concerns with swimmers in and out of the pool.
Qualifications
- At a minimum, some high school level education is required.
- Some competitive swimming experience is required.
