Job Summary
The Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) Information Technology Unit (IT) is seeking a talented and engaged Project Manager Intern who is working towards a degree in information technology and wants to develop beyond the classroom learning.
Job Duties
With the guidance of the Information Technology Department, the Intern will learn:
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.
If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.
All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

- Standard Operating Procedures: Documentation review and creation
- Project Management: assist in gathering updates for projects and enter information into a project management software program, as well as utilize project management skills to oversee small projects
- Documentation: create and maintain tracking spreadsheets and document complex inventory
- Network Infrastructure: assist in gathering information for the complex IT staff on prison complexes and create maps/documentation
- Assist complex IT staff on a variety of projects such as imaging computers, installing network equipment, site surveys for new project requests, and running network cabling
- Other duties as assigned
- Will occasionally travel to various prison complexes and work directly with local IT staff
- Drive on state business
- Provide an understanding of the ADCRR mission to enhance public safety
- Working knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets

- Basic understanding of Standard Operating Procedures
- Basic understanding of network technology and infrastructure
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Information Technology
