Job Summary:

The Department of Economic Security, Division of Employment and Rehabilitation Services (DERS) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Statewide Programs Manager with the Workforce Development Administration. This position is responsible for:

Job Duties:

Monitoring and evaluating local programs to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services in the area, focusing on the areas outlined by the Department of Labor (DOL) and Food and Nutrition Services as they relate to the Workforce Administration Program. Developing and monitoring corrective action plans as necessary. Evaluating staff performance to ensure goals and objectives are being met. Resolving personnel issues and personnel resource matters. Monitoring and allocating resources to maximize service delivery to customers. Responding to public and program inquiries, customer concerns, and/or providing program information and public relations as appropriate. Travel is required to conduct planning activities for overall operations and organize quarterly meetings for agriculture employers and community partners, to participate in inter/intra agency management sessions, local workforce boards, chamber of commerce meetings, and/or all employer outreach opportunities, and to lead or participate in special projects, committees, or trainings as assigned.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• The position will require the possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12). Individuals may be required to use their personal motor vehicle.

Retirement:

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
