The State of Connecticut, Office of the State Comptroller (OSC), is an agency whose mission is to provide accounting and financial services, to administer employee and retiree benefits, to develop accounting policy and exercise accounting oversight, and to prepare financial reports for the state, federal and municipal governments and the public.
We are recruiting for a full-time ERP Financials Business Team Lead to work within the Core-CT Division. This position:
- Is responsible for the General Ledger and Commitment Control and integration of transactions from other modules;
- Is responsible for customer support to users;
- Troubleshoots and resolves medium to complex issues and business processes;
- Assist with testing and validating solutions;
- Requirements gathering and documentation based upon user interaction;
- Document and understand business processes;
- Interpret, understand and learn system processes;
- Assist in implementation and validation of system upgrades and/or bugs and fixes;
- Review impacts to processes and procedures based upon system upgrades;
- Recommend to upper management new processes, procedures and streamlining of current processes and procedures;
- Develop and troubleshoot reports, analytics, queries, spreadsheets, and documents;
- Analyze requirements and business processes and be able to turn these into technical documentation; develop documents, presentations and execution of training; and, participate in system activities as needed.
As Team Lead this position requires knowledge of GAAP, and State/Governmental Accounting principles and policies as laid out by state statute, and accounting policies of OSC to ensure that the system is in compliance.
This position is a first-shift, 40 hour per week position located at the newly renovated State Office Building at 165 Capitol Avenue in Hartford, CT. 2. Master's degree in public administration, business administration or accounting may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience.
3. For State Employees two (2) years of experience as an ERP Financials Business Specialist may be substituted for the General and Special Experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge and understanding of PeopleSoft General Ledger, Commitment Control and integration with other PeopleSoft Financial Modules;
- Knowledge of Core-CT General Ledger, Commitment Control and integration with other Core-CT Financial modules;
- Experience using MS Teams, Microsoft Office software, Visio;
- General knowledge of relational database and SQL;
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
- Knowledge of State/Governmental Accounting Principles and Policies;
- Project management skills and documentation;
- Excellent verbal and written skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills;
- Detail-oriented;
- Ability to work independently in a team atmosphere;
- Ability to listen and interpret requirements/needs and document those requirements;
- Ability to analyze and review business processes;
- Experience creating training materials as well as an ability to conduct training classes/labs for employees.
