What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Inspector position at State of Georgia?
Under limited supervision, the Inspector conducts on-site inspections and preliminary, for-cause, or routine investigations of facilities and individuals licensed by the professional boards to ensure compliance with state laws, rules and regulations.
Essential duties:
- Conduct inspections for compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Visit establishments to verify that valid licenses and permits are displayed, and that licensing standards are being upheld.
- Investigate consumer complaints and suspected permit or license violations.
- Operate vehicles safely and within policy limits.
- Use issued and appropriate equipment to document inspections.
- Issue and serve documents for licensing boards.
- Perform job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Serve as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas.
- Maintain current knowledge of laws and board rules.
- Issue copies of reports to inspected entities.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, three years of related experience and a valid drivers license. (Position serves South, GA)
Bachelor's degree in a related field and one year of related field Or Associate's degree and three years of related experience Or Four years of related experience
