Position Overview

The Division of Mental Health is seeking to hire a Stores Clerk for the Chester Mental Health Center located in Chester, Illinois to perform manual labor and routine clerical record keeping tasks utilizing the state’s computer system. Communicates daily with the Business Office to ensure that all good receipts and requisitions are processed as needed. Maintains filing system for all stores paperwork. Assists in the physical inventories of furniture, computers and other equipment requiring property control and accountability.

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs manual labor and routine clerical record keeping tasks utilizing the state’s computer system at Chester Mental Health Center.
  • Communicates daily with the Business Office to ensure that all good receipts and requisitions are processed as needed, including but not limited to initial entering and reversals for corrections.
  • Maintains filing system for all stores paperwork.
  • Assists in taking physical inventories of furniture, computers and other equipment requiring property control and accountability.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • It is a requirement of this position that you possess knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of high school.

Conditions of Employment

1. Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
2. Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
