Introduction
The Maryland School for the Deaf (MSD) is a diverse, bilingual community who in partnership with families, provides an equitable and exemplary education in a nurturing, engaging, and challenging environment to ensure our students achieve personal excellence and become lifelong learners.� As such, we are looking for dedicated individuals who can join us in the education of the children at MSD. This is an 11-month, school year position.� This position does not work when school is closed during winter break, spring break, and during the summer months.� The salary range reflects the 11-month work schedule.

Main Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for dietary department set up for all meals, line preparation, dietary clean up, and documentation of product usage in accordance with prescribed procedures and applicable health and sanitation regulations and standards.
POSITION DUTIES
Prepares and sets up food service lines and steam tables and serves food; Serves measured portions in accordance with portion control instructions; Takes readings of food temperatures on serving lines; Cleans and sanitizes utensils, dishes, pots, pans, appliances and work areas such as kitchen and cafeteria areas; Prepares raw vegetables and fruits, beverages, sandwiches, salads and simple desserts; Serves food at luncheons, conferences and other special events; Receives, weighs, stores and inventories commodities and supplies; Assists MSD Cooks with food preparation; May deliver food carts to wards or other serving areas; May drive food delivery trucks; May operate cash registers in a cafeteria; Performs other related duties.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must be willing to learn American Sign Language.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
