Main Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for providing direct clinical services in the Sexual and Reproductive Health Clinic at the Howard County Health Department. The department strives to provide the full range of well-woman, family planning, and sexual health services to women, men, teens, and the LGBTQ community in Howard County in an accessible, patient-centered format. We are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where we work to minimize barriers to care, link our patients to resources to address the social determinants of health, and assist them in achieving their reproductive and overall health goals. This position will join a dedicated team of registered nurses and advanced practitioners to provide evidence-based care to our patients. The position will also have the opportunity to provide medical consultation/services to our other clinical programs including School-Based Wellness, Immunizations, and Infectious Disease, and collaborate with the Medical Director on developing and reviewing clinical protocols, policies, and procedures to ensure our patients receive high-quality health services. 80% Provides direct medical care, including prescribing medications, performing procedures, ordering laboratory tests, using electronic health records for documentation, billing/coding properly� 5% Develops/reviews clinical protocols, policies, procedures as requested� 15% Provides education/training, execute special projects, attend meetings�
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:�� Determined by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses under the certification requirements for Nurse Practitioner or Nurse-Midwife. Experience: One year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or as a Nurse-Midwife. Note:�Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Midwife classification or�Nurse Practitioner or Nurse-Midwife�specialty codes in the Nursing field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Desired qualifications: - Bilingual in Spanish� - Proficient with colposcopy, LARC (subdermal implant and IUD) procedures - Experience prescribing medication for HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) - Experience with diagnosing and treating STIs

BENEFITS
Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits. Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
