Who We Are:  The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services including Information Technology project delivery, maintenance and support.   This position is with the Agency Services area of DTMB supporting the Department of Technology, Management, and Budget.

About The Position: This first-level managerial position oversees the Custom off the Shelf (COTS) Unit and provides direction and supervision to staff directly responsible for application support activities including but not limited to new solution research & analysis, maintenance (60 applications), break-fixes, and system upgrade efforts.  The unit includes both full-time employees and contractual staff.  This position performs a range of professional and managerial tasks providing supervision and guidance to unit members, providing a positive culture for staff, ongoing support to upgrade and implement project proposals, prioritizing department-wide projects, and monitoring employee and contract resource allocations. This position is also critical for establishing and maintaining a healthy relationship with clients and other internal partners within DTMB.
 
Position Location/Remote Office:  The office location is Lansing, MI. The State of Michigan is not able to offer employment to out of-state applicants that do not plan to relocate. The Department of Technology Management and Budget currently offers a hybrid work option which requires two days working on-site at the official work location and three days of remote work per week.

SIGNING BONUS:  This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $3,500. Up to $1,750 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period). This does not apply to current state employees.

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree with not less than 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.

Experience
Three years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure, Programmer/Analyst or IT Project Coordinator P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure, Programmer/Analyst or IT Project Coordinator 12.Three years of experience as a computer programming supervisor or Information Technology
