Job Location: This position is with the Department of Natural Resources, Division of Environmental Quality and will be located at the Lewis & Clark Building, 1101 Riverside Drive Jefferson City, MO 65109
Why you’ll love this position: This position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to be part of an innovative team, be a member of the Department executive leadership, and provide guidance and mentoring to the Division of Environmental Quality team members. The candidate will be part of the Division Management Team, consisting of the Division Director and two Deputy Division Directors. The candidate will assist in providing oversight of the Division’s Environmental Programs and Regional Offices, while focusing on continuous improvement. The candidate will exercise considerable independent judgment in planning and carrying out assignments, while working as part of the Division leadership.
What you’ll do:
- Directly supervise the management of several of the Division’s Environmental Programs and Regional Offices.
- Coordinate activities that cross division or program lines on division-wide or Department-wide initiatives.
- Assist with special reports or correspondence for the Department Director, the Governor’s Office, and the Legislature.
- Develop strategies and recommendations for the division, as noted in the division Placemat and Dashboard.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with other Department managers, supervisors, and team members.
- Communicate and coordinate with a variety of stakeholders.
- Develop current and future workflow processes, using lean techniques.
- Utilize Project Management skills on current division projects, ensuring projects are completed timely and within scope.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of management experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience/Special Job Requirements:
- 6 – 8 years of management experience.
- Experience in identifying and leading change.
- Experience in identifying and implementing efficiencies that lead to reduced staff effort and/or reduced Department cost, and improving customer service.
- Knowledge of Lean concepts.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations.
