We are seeking a Physical Therapy Director to lead and oversee physical therapy services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Pay starts at a minimum starting wage $37.185, Plus $3.00 per hour facility differential for every hour worked. Minimum permanent rate $39.045, after successful completion of original probation.
Hours: Monday through Friday/Day hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and implement goals and policies for the Physical Therapy Department.
- Supervise physical therapy services, both in therapy rooms and within living units.
- Oversee evaluations, treatment plans, and re-evaluations for residents.
- Construct adaptive devices to support resident needs.
- Provide guidance to professional staff on complex treatment programs.
- Evaluate staff performance and ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Consult with physicians on physical therapy programs for individual residents.
- Develop and oversee training programs for physical therapy staff.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to review resident care plans.
- Perform physical therapy treatments as needed.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy or a related field plus Five years of progressively responsible experience in physical therapy services.
Legal Requirements: Registered as a Physical Therapist in the State of Nebraska is required
Knowledge of:
- Principles and practices of physical therapy
- Human growth and development, including physical disabilities, mental illness, and intellectual disabilities
- Techniques and equipment used in physical therapy treatment programs
- Prosthetics and orthopedic devices used in therapy and rehabilitation
Ability to:
- Prepare diagnostic evaluations and document residents’ responses to therapeutic programs
- Supervise and guide subordinate staff in treatment programs
Skill in:
- Therapeutic manipulation techniques
