Description of Work
- As of January 1, 2025, the NEW salary range for this position is $31,200 - $49,340
This position is located at Greene Correctional Institution in Maury, NC. Greene CI is a minimum custody facility housing 656 adult male offenders. This position functions in the mailroom of the facility. Duties include but are not limited to sorting, inspecting all incoming and outgoing mail. Processing and handling legal mail. This position will utilize the inmate banking system to enter funds received for offenders and staff and process all incoming packages for offenders. This position will need to meet the distribution of mail needs for the facility and offenders ensuring all policy and procedures are applied for the security and safety of the public and staff.

Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 19,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving the lives and property of its citizens through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws.
