Description of Work

We are currently recruiting for an Administrative Associate II. This position is assigned to the Recreational Therapy (RT) Services Department under the supervision of the RT Director. Job responsibilities include the following, as well as any other assigned duties :

  • Greeting and assisting visitors, answering incoming phone lines, delivering messages, and helping to coordinate meetings.
  • Typing assigned documents such as letters, memorandums, and any other necessary correspondence within the department.
  • Work within the budget maintained by the Office Assistant IV while ordering recreational and educational supplies.
  • Process work orders necessary for the provision of building maintenance.
  • Assumes responsibilities for office operations in the absence of the OA IV, as needed, and performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Participates and assists in campus-wide special activities as assigned by the RT Director.
  • This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance, paid sick / vacation / holidays, retirement, etc. The normal working hours are Monday - Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. - 5 : 00 p.m. with some variations as required.

    ALL employees of Murdoch Center are designated as ESSENTIAL for adverse weather and emergency events.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

  • Experience using MS Office(Word & Excel)
  • Experience in Ordering supplies
  • Management Preferences :

  • Ability to schedule and coordinate a variety of appointments, meetings, and / or conferences.
  • Successful applicant must have ability to obtain Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI), First Aid and CPR certifications.
  • Significant knowledge of and ability to use correct grammar, vocabulary, spelling, proofreading, and office terminology to compose and / or proofread correspondence, reports and other materials.
  • Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

    High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
