Key Duties Include
- Perform clinical and surveillance testing on viral pathogens
- Operate a range of instrumentation for advanced molecular diagnostics including real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR ) platforms
- Analyze, review, and report test results in accordance with QA protocols and LIMS
- Conduct quality control procedures and participate in instrument maintenance per manufacturer and lab protocol
- Perform validation and verification of test methods and related equipment
- Provide cross-training and technical instruction to laboratory staff and trainees.
- Participate in emergency response efforts including surge testing and lab operations support.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and ensure proper inventory of reagents and supplies.
- Adhere to biosafety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment in BSL-2 /BSL-3 conditions.
- Assist with staff competency assessments and proficiency testing.
