- Salary up to: $80,000, commensurate with experience.
- This position is responsible for managing and maintaining media relations for the agency and leads in the research, writing and editing of any releases or documentation on behalf of the agency to media outlets.
- Establishes, develops and maintains contact with media outlets to field questions, draft responses, and disseminate agency information. *
- Prepares, edits, coordinates and distributes news releases. *
- Prepares speeches, talking points, scripts as needed for agency staff. *
- Coordinates and attends all media interviews with agency staff.
- Tracks and distributes all media mentions for agency and corrects any misinformation found in media mentions. *
- Track media outlets on social media platforms. *
- Attends OMES public events when media outlets are present.
- Able to create documentation and utilize.
- Prepare Open Records Request responses to media requests.
- Assist with agency staff on projects that require strategic promotion to media outlets.
- May serve as photographer at events.
- May assist with mass communications to the Legislature as needed.
- May perform other duties as assigned.

- This position works primarily in a comfortable office setting with occasional need to travel or work remote at events.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually mild.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in public relations or mass communications for organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field.
