A Food Service Supervisor II will prepare meals for clients and staff in a Juvenile Justice and Youth Services institutional setting. You will need to have a Food Handler's permit (or obtain one while working for the State).
Principal Duties
- Cooks, bakes prepares and serves food
- Cleans, sterilizes and or disinfects areas and/or equipment
- Supervises personnel including: hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions
- Plans menus, determines amounts to be prepared and how leftovers should be utilized
- Orders and receives equipment, merchandise, materials, and supplies
- Inspects and maintains food quality, handling, and safety standards
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines, etc.
- Provides assistance and/or on-the-job training
- Writes or drafts correspondence, reports, documents and/or other written materials
- Keeps records and prepares reports
- We are looking for a motivated individual who enjoys cooking and following recipes.
- We are looking for a candidate who is available to work rotating shifts (which include days, nights, weekends, and holidays).
- Experience within the Food Service Industry and has supervisory experience.
