Baby Watch Early Intervention
Physical Therapist

The main purpose of this position is to address the functional needs of children (birth to three years) in various developmental domains, particularly related to physical, sensory, motor, and postural development. This person will plan and implement physical therapy to promote the family's capacity to care for their child and promote growth and development in natural environments where families live, work, and play. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and reflective provider with an understanding of child development, infant mental health, and a passion for working on behalf of the healthy development of children and their caregivers.

The Early Intervention Physical Therapist This person will adhere to and demonstrate Baby Watch Early Intervention core values and mission in the performance of all aspects of this position. They will follow through on assigned referrals by providing evaluation, assessment, eligibility determination, and IFSP development. They will be able to make recommendations to families on developmental skills in the areas of gross motor, fine motor, social and emotional, cognition, speech/language/communication, self-help, and adaptive. This person will maintain their assigned caseload incorporating researched based intervention activities into daily routines that best facilitate child and family driven outcomes. They will coach parents to learn and follow through with interventions. This person will ensure all required documentation is complete, accurate, and timely. They will support families through the transition process before the child ages out of Baby Watch Early Intervention services. All other duties as assigned.

Preference will be given to candidates with:
  • Baby Watch Early Intervention Specialist Credential
  • Previous Part C early intervention experience
  • Knowledge of a family centered service delivery model
  • Ability to write and create professional trainings and presentations
  • Knowledge of early childhood development, specific to birth to 3 years
  • Experience working with a multidisciplinary team
  • Master's degree or higher in Physical Therapy 
  • Three or more years pediatric experience working with children (birth to 5) and families 
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a background check
Qualifications:
  • Licensure in good standing as a physical therapist in Utah

  • Licensure as a physical therapist in Utah.
  • Risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, working with contagious diseases or hazardous chemicals, etc.
  • Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.
  • Occasional in state, out of state, overnight and weekend travel may be required. 
  • This position is a career service exempt (schedule TL) that may convert to career service (schedule B) in the future.
