The Supreme Court Commissions team at the Administrative Office of the Courts is seeking a Court Program Assistant to provide a broad range of administrative and programmatic support for three Supreme Court Commissions: Minority and Justice Commission, Gender and Justice Commission, the Interpreter and Language Access Commission, and the Tribal State Court Consortium. This position is located within AOC’s Office of Court Innovation and reports to the Supreme Court Commissions Manager.
The Supreme Court Commissions are focused on equity and access to justice in Washington State Courts, specifically: racial justice, gender equity, and language access. The Tribal State Court Consortium is a joint effort between state and tribal court judicial officers to build relationships and expand collaboration.
This position supports the work of a tight-knit team of skilled policy analysts and program coordinators. The person in this role is proactive and takes independent initiative and responsibility for providing on-going assistance and coordination to support program goals. Senior staff provide direction for specific assignments and review work periodically.
This position provides project assistance to AOC staff in planning, coordinating, communicating, and implementing various Commission and Consortium programs, projects and initiatives, and implementation of court-related legislation. It requires the ability to learn and implement a variety of processes, procedures, and policies related to the Administrative Office of the Courts.
Key knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position include: organization, good communication and writing skills, the ability to prioritize among multiple projects, good time management, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. An understanding of and interest in improving equity and access to justice in the court system is important for this position.

Salary: Range 56: $59,616 - $78,120 per year (DOQ).

WASHINGTON STATE RESIDENCY AND TELEWORK INFORMATION

Position may be eligible for hybrid working; a combination of telework and working in-office.
Duties
- Supports senior AOC staff in managing, coordinating, and promoting Commission programs related to racial justice, gender equity, and language access.
- Maintains information about Commissions/Consortium on program webpages.
- Assists with communication and outreach to court stakeholders and the public about the work of the Commissions/Consortium. This includes updating and maintaining multiple listservs for each group.
- Coordinates projects in areas of responsibility to support program growth and court process improvements. Such projects may include research and information gathering, and preparing reports or memos.
- Helps develop and streamline internal business processes to allow for maximum effectiveness and efficiency of court program implementation.
- Coordinates submission and review of invoices and travel expense vouchers associated with team’s projects and events. May provide monitoring and oversight of program budgets.
- Communicates and assists in developing and implementing program policies, standards, guidelines, and expectations; assists in monitoring compliance of program activities with internal AOC program policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Coordinates meetings, trainings, and other events associated with the Commissions and Consortium, including scheduling, organizing meeting logistics, preparing meeting materials, notetaking, and taking or compiling meeting minutes.
- Responds to requests related to AOC programs and projects.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Associate of Arts degree in business or a related field;
AND
- Four (4) years of administrative program support experience.
Relevant experience may substitute for the required education.
