POSITION SUMMARY: Candidate should be interested in developing a successful, long-term career in the HVAC industry. The ideal candidate will be committed to continuous learning, have a strong work ethic, a team mindset, and mechanical aptitude. This is an entry-level role focused on assisting with the installation, inspection, and repair of heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Travel to customer locations, sometimes multiple per day, as scheduled
- Work alongside senior staff to inspect existing HVAC systems for effectiveness and safety
- Assist in conducting performance tests using specialized tools
- Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to increase longevity
- Help maintain accurate inventory of all equipment and HVAC resources
- Perform other duties as required to maintain equipment and follow all company and customer safety policies and procedures
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas at all job sites before, during, and after service is performed
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Entry-level position with significant learning and growth potential — seeking candidates with the right attitude and aptitude
- Current valid New Jersey driver’s license and clean driving record
- EPA certification to handle refrigerants (Universal or Type I & II, including 410A) preferred; willingness to obtain required
- Technical high school certification and/or associate degree from an accredited HVAC program preferred
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and HVAC-related equipment
- Basic knowledge of electrical testing tools (e.g., multimeters) and ability to read simple electrical schematics
- Must be punctual, dependable, and able to follow a daily schedule with multiple appointments at different locations
- Must be available for seasonal overtime during peak summer and winter months
- Must maintain a professional appearance, and demonstrate strong communication, computer, and customer service skills
Working Conditions:
Pushing, pulling, and lifting various types of equipment. Walking, standing, and stooping for extended periods of time. Climbing and working from ladders and staging while carrying equipment that may weigh up to 75 lbs.
Working at difficult angles to perform repairs. Working in all types of weather conditions. May be exposed to dust, noise, heat, cold, lubricants, and chemicals during the course of work.
