The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the administration of the company’s benefit programs and performing payroll functions. This position includes frequent interaction with employees regarding benefit and payroll issues.
Responsibilities:
- This position will act as the payroll backup and will cover in the event the main payroll processor is on vacation or out of the office.
- Assist in the recruiting and onboarding process.
- Facilitate a positive atmosphere for good employee relations.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee information.
- Administer company HIPAA privacy and security policies.
- Maintain Employee Personnel Records.
- Assist in the administration of employee benefit programs.
- Assist in the presentation of employee benefits topics at employee meetings.
- Process new hire enrollments, terminations and changes as needed.
- Perform E-Verify on new hires as needed.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field (preferred).
- Must be a team player dedicated to the organization.
- Handle confidential material in a professional matter.
- Proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-directed with attention to details and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational, problem solving, and time management skills.
- Flexibility to work extra hours and weekends, as needed.
- May NOT be related to another Employee of Steel Dynamics. The definition of relative in this requirement is any person who is related by blood or marriage, or whose relationship with the employee is similar.
- Experience working with UKG Software preferred.
- 2 years of Benefit experience is a plus.
