Position Overview: The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint and other coatings to steel equipment and structures, ensuring a high-quality finish that meets our rigorous industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, applying primers and masking appropriate surfaces.
- Mix and apply paints, varnishes, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality and make necessary touch-ups or corrections.
- Maintain and clean painting equipment and work areas.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain technical equipment for the production jobs and ensuring they are in working order
- Possess experience with a wide array of painting tools including thin and thick brushes, airbrushes and rollers
- Remove previous paint surfaces using PPE masking or a chemical rinse
- Collaborate with other team members to meet production deadlines and quality standards.
- Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as an industrial painter, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of various painting techniques and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.
- Reliable transportation and strict punctuality and attendance habits.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
