Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Principal will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing instructional programs that cater to diverse learning needs and styles.
- Evaluating and developing professional and non-professional staff to ensure optimal performance.
- Participating in the selection and assignment of staff to guarantee the best possible fit.
- Implementing district and building policies and procedures relating to discipline, accounting, attendance, testing, student records, and transportation.
- Collaborating with maintenance teams to ensure a safe, pleasant, and comfortable learning environment.
- Organizing and directing a communications program to serve as an information base for various publics.
- Planning, directing, and presenting staff development activities to enhance skills and update techniques.
- Administering fiscal operations and monitoring the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Developing and implementing long-range planning and school improvement programs.
- Assigning and scheduling staff to maximize each group's potential.
- Creating alternative educational programming for students with diverse needs.
- Participating in food services management and coordinating Elementary Advisory Council activities.
- Providing parent conferences and communicating academic progress.
- Coordinating content for district newsletters and calendars.
- Serving as LEA in special education meetings and ensuring implementation of state and federal requirements.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must have:
- A degree in Education Administration or a related field; advanced degrees are preferred.
- Principal Certification K-12.
