As a key leader within the Steel Valley School District, the Assistant Principal plays a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience for students. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and students alike.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Principal will be responsible for:

  1. Developing and implementing instructional programs that cater to diverse learning needs and styles.
  2. Evaluating and developing professional and non-professional staff to ensure optimal performance.
  3. Participating in the selection and assignment of staff to guarantee the best possible fit.
  4. Implementing district and building policies and procedures relating to discipline, accounting, attendance, testing, student records, and transportation.
  5. Collaborating with maintenance teams to ensure a safe, pleasant, and comfortable learning environment.
  6. Organizing and directing a communications program to serve as an information base for various publics.
  7. Planning, directing, and presenting staff development activities to enhance skills and update techniques.
  8. Administering fiscal operations and monitoring the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  9. Developing and implementing long-range planning and school improvement programs.
  10. Assigning and scheduling staff to maximize each group's potential.
  11. Creating alternative educational programming for students with diverse needs.
  12. Participating in food services management and coordinating Elementary Advisory Council activities.
  13. Providing parent conferences and communicating academic progress.
  14. Coordinating content for district newsletters and calendars.
  15. Serving as LEA in special education meetings and ensuring implementation of state and federal requirements.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • A degree in Education Administration or a related field; advanced degrees are preferred.
  • Principal Certification K-12.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Proven experience in education administration, including curriculum development and strategic planning.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and students.
  • Experience working directly with students in an educational setting.
  • Proficient in budgeting processes related to school operations.
  • Excellent public speaking skills for effective communication with various stakeholders.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that supports diverse learning needs.

Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
