The Role
Do you want to lead a small project group? Do you want to design and manage projects independently? As Stellix Global Services continues to grow, we have an opportunity for a Senior Automation Engineer to develop and implement software designs. This role will involve being a member of a large engineering team with various experiences. Opportunities to learn and grow are endless as you lead DeltaV projects at customer sites. You must leverage your expertise and knowledge of process control systems to engage customers. Interpersonal skills and time management are essential to produce the desired outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Develop Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS), Detailed Design Specifications (DDS), and Test Scripts
- Design, configure, test, and maintain DeltaV Control Systems Applications
- Conduct site acceptance testing (SAT) and provide supporting documentation
- Perform control system loop checks
- Ability to read and interpret piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs) and logic descriptions
- Act as the overall technical lead
- Ensure software project execution is accurate, documented, and delivered on time
- Improve engineering efficiency of the team through training and utilization of engineers and technicians
- Develop, adopt, and maintain a budget for a control system project
- Write automation-based engineering proposals
- Communicate effectively and technically with multi-disciplinary teams
- Lead team of 2-4 people to manage an area and review work
- Collect customer data and utilize it to design control strategies
- Participate in the start-up of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) at customer sites
- Provide support of the daily manufacturing operation for process optimization
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field
- Provide leadership in the development and implementation of engineering policies, procedures, and standards
- Work well with large teams and willing to train others
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to commute to customer sites within the greater Boston Area with some possible travel within the US or abroad
Skills Required
- 5 years of process automation control systems engineering experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), with a strong preference for DeltaV
- Knowledge on data collection
- Experience with Bus technologies and OPC communication
- Process control knowledge
- Specific knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
- Design, implement, and test complex DeltaV Batch Unit Operations
- Field instrumentation installation and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with computer networks Knowledge of cGxP systems and procedures
- Understanding of PLCs
- Technologies and Systems
- Related tools PLCs (various), MES, OPC, and DCS experience
