What are the responsibilities and job description for the Azure Database Developer/Architect position at Stem IT?
A Global Data Infrastructure conglomerate is looking to hire a Database Architect in Reston(hybrid with 3 days a week on-site). This person will join a fast paced group, tasked with: designing optimizing largescale database systems utilizing Azure cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with on-prem SQL, as well as Azure database technologies such as: Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Data Lake, Data Factory, Azure Blob stoarge, and managing cloud migrations of on-prem to Azure.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Seasoned in SQL (Postgres, MySQL, T-SQL, SQL server)
- Expertise with Azure DevOps and Azure DB
- Experience with cloud migration strategies and cloud database architecture
- Experienced designing and implementing database for high availability and disaster recovery solutions
- Experience with Azure services: Cosmos DB, Data Lake, Data Factory, Azure Blob Storage and similiar tools
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
Skills that are a plus:
- Masters/PHD in related field
- Background with .NET, C#(preferable), python or similiar lanangues for building API"s and integrating databases with web apps
- Experience with microservice architecture
- Experience with NoSQL DB's
- Knowledgable in databse performance tuning, troubleshooting and optimization within cloud-based enviornments is a huge plus
