We currently have a Substitute Teacher Position Open!
We are looking for a Substitute Teacher at our locations including Alton, Bethalto, and Brighton Programs. This position varies in hours for up to 40 hours per week. Hours are based on the needs of the program with hours scheduled ahead or called the morning of.
Our hours of operation are 6:30am-6:00pm, and hours will adjust within this time frame accordingly. Substitutes have the option to say yes or no based on their availability.
Full-time positions are available to our substitutes first before opening the position to the public.
Salary Range: Based on position, education, and credential level. In addition scholarships are available to continue your education to grow within our company.
Requirements:
- At least 19 years old.
- Required High School Diploma/GED
- Preferred- 60 Credit hours of college credit with 6 credit hours related to Early Childhood or 30 Credit hours of college and 6 hours related to Early Childhood with one year experience in a classroom.
- Completed physical upon hire with TB Test and Appropriate Shot Record
- Receive and maintain a clear background check through DCFS
Location: All Step By Step locations- Alton, Bethalto, and Brighton, IL
Duties: Some, but not all duties include:
- Assist in leading a quality classroom that ensures the safety of children and staff at all times
- Assure the classroom is in compliance with regulatory agencies at all times
- Communicate and maintain positive working relationships with parents and staff daily
- Interact with children within the program at their level
- Follow and complete Cleaning Checklists
- Assure children are pottied and changed regularly
- Complete and follow through with lesson plans and child assessments daily
- Assure classroom responsibilities are completed daily
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.50 per hour
