Stephens Memorial Hospital is currently seeking to hire a Family Nurse Practitioner to work in the Walk-in Clinic.
The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing primary and specialty healthcare to patients, including diagnosing and treating illnesses, ordering laboratory tests, prescribing medications, and managing health conditions.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs.
• Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition.
• Discusses case with Physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan.
• Submits health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by Physician.
• Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
• Refers patients to Physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
• Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
• Must be registered and have current DEA, DPS and other certificates to legally operate as practitioner in the State of Texas.
