Join our growing service team as an Apprentice Technician & Equipment Transporter! In this hands-on role, you'll help
transport sensitive lab and medical equipment while learning the trade of maintenance and repair.

Sterling Biomedical is a trusted service provider specializing in the maintenance of not one, but multiple pieces of
equipment within the veterinary, human and research industry. We support veterinary hospitals, human facilities such as
dermatology and plastic surgery centers, colleges and more throughout Florida. Our services encompass routine
inspections, emergency repairs, and regular maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with industry
standards. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a reliable, eager to learn and motivated individual to join our
team.
Job Summary:
This hybrid role is built for someone dependable and actively seeking an opportunity for growth with mechanical
interests and/or inclinations. You’re initial role will include picking up/returning repaired or damaged medical devices. Additionally, when not in transportation, you will begin basic shop tasks while training under experienced technicians. Eventually you will perform diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on said units, forming your path to become a field service technician or repair technician within our facility.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Transportation
 Transport days include returning repaired devices and setting them up and/or picking up units that need to come in for repair services.
 Safely load, transport and unload sensitive equipment.
 Complete transport logs.
 Represent Sterling Biomedical in a professional manner at all times while in the presence of clientele.
2. Shop Apprentice
 Shadow and study SOP manuals.
 Assist with basic services within our in house repair center while learning diagnosing and repair techniques.
 Assist in shop maintenance.
 Manage vehicle inventory and restocks, as necessary.
 Participate in training and development to advance toward a technician role.
 Shadow field technicians on service calls.
 Learns and follows specific manufacturer guidelines for repairs as well as all company, OSHA, or
other agencies' policies related to contaminants or chemicals, etc.

Requirements:
1. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
2. Mechanical interest in electronics, diagnostics and small equipment repair.
3. Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
4. Professionalism and communication skills.
5. High school diploma or GED (trade school or technical training is a plus).
6. Ensures proper use and maintenance of all company provided assets, including but not limited to phone,
computer, parts, tools, and uniforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Prior experience with deliveries, warehouse and/or field service work.
2. Familiarity with basic hand tools and electrical testing equipment.
3. Basic understanding of laboratory or medical equipment (not required)
Physical Demands
1. Lifting & Carrying

 Regularly lift and carry or move equipment up to 100 lbs.


2. Standing / Sitting

 Sitting: Driving to and from facilities as scheduled / needed with work vehicle.
 Standing: Shop days require standing, lifting and bending.

3. Hand Dexterity and Grip Strength

 Frequent use of hand tools and small parts requiring fine motor skills.

4. Use of technology

 Majority paperless operating/reporting system

5. Climbing

 Use of ladders and minor physical activity.
