What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sanitation Supervisor position at Sterling Foods?
The Sanitation Supervisor is to provide leadership regarding appropriate processes for the cleanliness of the plant, ensuring a safe and sanitary food manufacturing facility. Under his guidance, the sanitation staff is expected to perform their duties in compliance with SSOPs, HACCP, GMP, EPA and OSHA requirements as well as USDA, AMS and FSIS. This role supervises equipment preparation and setup for effective and timely start-ups. Active communication with all departments will be critical, as well as communication with the sanitation staff, through team meetings and other processes.
DUTIES
Ensure Master Cleaning Schedule is updated and followed.
Working knowledge of all plant equipment operations. Able to properly start, stop, lockout and secure each piece of processing and packaging equipment.
Make certain that equipment is cleaned at the proper frequency and that appropriate chemicals are used correctly.
Able to apply proper chemical applications throughout the facility, demonstrate the proper usage and application of all sanitation equipment.
Coordinate with appropriate personnel on sanitation issues; recommend changes as needed (i.e. plant layout, lighting, ventilation, work practices to improve sanitation standards and quality of product.
Determine sanitation work hours required based on production schedules.
Administer Company Policies, Procedures And Safety Requirements.
Coordinate and work closely with QA in support of audits.
Attend management meetings as required.
Process cost analyses.
Qualifications
Sanitation Experience
Trades school degree or High School Diploma or equivalent.
Pest Control and Chemical background.
Spanish bilingual (preferred).
Able to work in excess of forty (40) hours as well as weekends and holidays.
Availability for on-call to respond to emergencies outside of business hours.
