Responsibilities
The golf course has 18 holes, Mach 1 greens, a mix of Bermuda and Zoysia tees, Celebration fairways and Common/419 rough. The irrigation system has Toro Site Pro central control, Toro Osmac satellites and both Rain Bird and Hunter heads. The course has been home to professional golf events, local amateur events, and qualifiers for the Texas Golf Association and USGA.
The Golf Course Superintendent will direct and lead all golf course maintenance practices as well as keep records of all annual maintenance activities and fertilizer/pesticide applications. Solid irrigation management practices are a top priority to keep the overall course conditions firm and fast, while maintaining a healthy stand of turfgrass. Responsible for financial management and creating and working within a budget. Requires the ability to schedule and supervise maintenance operations to achieve the most efficient utilization of manpower and equipment. The ability to effectively communicate and lead a crew is a must for this position.
Qualifications
A degree in Turfgrass Management or related field is preferred but not required given an extensive amount of work experience in a comparable environment. The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years progressive experience at clubs known for their commitment to excellence. Must have a Texas Non-Commercial Pesticide Applicators license or obtain one within 90 days. The candidate should be self-motivated, detail oriented, possess a strong work ethic and have knowledge of all turf equipment for this hands-on position.
The salary is based on experience, and offers health, vision, dental, vehicle allowance, uniforms, and dues paid for local and national associations.
