Position Summary
The Director of People and Organizational Development is a strategic leadership role responsible for aligning people, culture, and organizational strategies to support the firm’s long-term growth. This position drives initiatives across talent acquisition, leadership development, performance management, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of talent strategy and organizational dynamics, especially within a professional services or financial firm environment.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Strategy & Acquisition
- Design and lead recruitment strategies to attract top-tier professionals aligned with the firm’s culture and values
- Build strong talent pipelines for both immediate and future organizational needs
- Oversee onboarding programs to ensure seamless integration and early engagement
Organizational Development & Culture
- Drive initiatives that support a high-performing, inclusive, and values-driven workplace culture
- Partner with leadership to assess and enhance organizational structure and team effectiveness
- Lead change management and process flow initiatives and foster adaptability across the firm
Performance & Leadership Development
- Implement robust performance management systems that promote growth and accountability
- Design and deliver leadership development programs to build bench strength and succession planning
- Identify and nurture high-potential employees for leadership and technical roles
Employee Engagement & Experience
- Lead efforts to enhance employee satisfaction, engagement, and retention
- Regularly assess and evolve employee feedback channels and engagement surveys
- Champion initiatives that promote well-being, psychological safety, and long-term career development
Benefits, Wage and Salary Administration
- Recommend annual changes to company benefits program in support of budget and talent acquisition goals.
- Support payroll administration to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including unemployment compensation and workers compensation.
Compliance & HR Best Practices
- Ensure all talent management practices comply with applicable labor laws and regulatory requirements
- Partner with legal consultant as needed on employment policies and procedures
- Stay abreast of HR and organizational development trends, particularly those relevant to the financial services sectors
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration
- 8–10 years of progressive experience in HR, talent management, or organizational development
- Experience in a professional services, or financial services environment preferred
- Proven track record of building high-impact people programs and strategies
- Strong leadership presence, influencing skills, and emotional intelligence
- Familiarity with HR tech platforms, performance systems, and data-driven decision-making
