2nd Shift Operator
General Description:
Works in the Packaging Department, reporting to the 2nd shift supervisor.
Responsible for the final packaging process of finished product. Perform quality tests and cleaning as required by management. Work closely with Packaging Supervisor to make sure all procedures are followed and performed as expected.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Sanitizing/Cleaning of equipment on regularly scheduled basis
2. Preventative maintenance of equipment to include greasing
3. Keeps work areas in order and clean
4. Assist Labeler/Can Packer with staging materials
5. Perform other duties on a scheduled, assigned, and as needed basis
6. Variety pack production as directed
7. Document total case count per shift
8. Complete inventory counts as needed
Qualifications:
The person filling this position must:
1. Have skills necessary to start up, adjust, and run mechanical equipment
2. Have the ability to communicate and work with other employees and management
3. Have the ability to learn the operations of the packaging line
4. Work safely and efficiently with attention to details
5. Must be available for overtime and weekend work
6. Have knowledge of basic arithmetic skills to accurately complete required reports
7. Be willing to continually improve skills and knowledge of the entire packaging process
8. Be able to climb ladders and stairs
9. Lift up to 75 pounds (~30 pounds routinely)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $24.19 per hour
