Stevens’ private residential special education school serves adolescent males between the ages of 11 and 22 with a history of complex trauma and behavioral problems. The Stevens School provides education, academic support, social development, and supports the emotional wellbeing of youth within the school environment.
Stevens is seeking an individual with experience in residential education or a similar environment, who is able to flexibly meet the needs of youth and staff, establish and maintain clear routines, and ensure consistent implementation of program policies and expectations. The ideal candidate is able to provide consistent supervision and support to staff, role model effective behavior management techniques, and skillfully engage adolescents with a variety of behavioral and learning needs.
The Day Shift Coordinator is part of the leadership team responsible for daily operation of the Stevens School. The coordinator ensures that school systems run smoothly and provides behavioral support and crisis intervention during school hours. The coordinator also provides supervision to the Teacher Assistants, and assists the whole team by providing coverage within the classroom as needed. The Day Shift Coordinator supervises morning routines in the residences and afternoon transitional periods.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Completion of the trial period at Stevens or one year of experience as a direct care staff with adolescents in another residential treatment setting
In lieu of one year of residential care experience, two years of experience working with adolescents may be substituted
Excellent organizational skills
Effective listening skills
Ability to effectively relate to trauma-impacted adolescents and other professionals
Ability to communicate and collaborate across all organizational departments

Monday – Friday 7:30-3:30 Wednesday 8-4
Pay Rate:
$27.32 to $28.30 / hour, depending on level of experience and/or degree
$2,000 / year for verified, bilingual fluency in both English and Spanish
$1,000 sign-on bonus
