We are currently hiring for both Millwright I (starting at $42 / hour) and Millwright II (starting at $47 / hour), offering a supportive work environment and opportunities for career advancement.
Qualifications :
- Proficient in understanding and working with mechanical systems and components commonly found in sawmills, such as conveyor systems, saws, kilns, and debarkers.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
- Skilled in welding and fabrication techniques for repairing and modifying equipment components.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and diagnose mechanical issues quickly and accurately.
- Ability to implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems commonly used in sawmill machinery.
- Ability to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot issues related to these systems.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and components associated with sawmill equipment. Knowledge of electrical safety practices and the ability to work alongside electricians when needed.
- Experience in implementing preventive maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and reliability of machinery.
- Strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues. Knowledge of and compliance with relevant safety regulations in the sawmill industry.
- Effective communication with team members, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and address concerns.
- Collaborative approach to work, demonstrating the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Willingness to share knowledge and mentor less experienced millwrights or apprentices.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work during non-standard hours or weekends to address urgent maintenance needs.
Millwright I : Millwright II :
Millwright II :
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Millwright in a sawmill environment or ability to demonstrate technical proficiency in the above required qualifications.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills and the ability to handle complex machinery repairs.
Compensation :
Millwright I - starting at $42 per hour.
