Essential Functions and Duties:
- Provide professional and courteous guest service at all times.
- Supervise maintenance operations for systems such as refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, and hotel equipment.
- Monitor energy consumption (electric, gas, oil, water) and ensure efficient use.
- Oversee all contracted services (electrical, plumbing, cleaning) to meet hotel standards and guest expectations.
- Hire, supervise, and develop maintenance staff, ensuring timely project completion across properties.
- Coordinate activities with Housekeeping and Security, managing key inventory and safety protocols.
- Train staff in emergency procedures and maintain safety compliance.
- Assist with project planning and work closely with architects, contractors, and construction teams.
- Manage maintenance agreements and contracts, including landscaping and snow removal.
- Develop and maintain maintenance programs for guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
- Perform inventory management, purchasing duties, and develop departmental budgets.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of all workspaces, attending meetings and completing projects as assigned by General Managers.
Required Experience, Education, and Skills:
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in hotel engineering or maintenance, with a focus on managing multiple properties.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance systems, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, and energy controls.
- Ability to manage maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance.
- Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
- Experience working with contractors, vendors, and managing maintenance agreements.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for working with staff, management, and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in budgeting, inventory management, and purchasing.
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations and make decisions that impact guest safety and operational costs.
- Work will involve both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying temperatures.
- Frequent walking, standing, and lifting of objects up to 50 lbs.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, including on-call for emergencies.
- Regular exposure to noise, vibration, and mechanical equipment in maintenance operations.
