Description
JOB OBJECTIVE
The Buyer is responsible for all aspects of merchandise assortment planning in all sales channels. This includes category and seasonal assortments for the retail stores and consumer website.
JOB SUMMARY
• Develop merchandise assortments for retail stores and direct to consumer channel
• Travel domestically to source/develop a curated assortment
• Responsible for initial forecast of new items
• Negotiate prices, terms, and minimums to meet profitability goals
• Work with Demand Planner to ensure timely merchandise delivery and accurate inventory levels
• Develop and maintain vendor relationships that will ensure an influx of product ideas, support, and pricing goals
• Identify trends and update merchandise assortment that will set Stonewall Kitchen apart from competitors
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• May be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week periodically as business needs require

Requirements
EXPECTATIONS
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 3 years of buying experience
2. Must have computer skills, with understanding of Excel a must
3. Must be able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
4. Must have strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
5. Must be able to climb stairs on a regular basis
6. Skilled in negotiating with vendors.
