Stoney Brook Hewitt is seeking a Full-time Cook to continue our story of compassionately caring for our residents. As a full-time Cook, you will be assisting the Food Services Director to help with the operation of the Food Services department.

Shifts:

• 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
• Rotation of 4 days on 2 days off.
• Includes weekend and holiday shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares or assist in preparation of complete meals - preparing and cooking soups, meats, gravies, vegetables, desserts, salads, baked goods, etc.
• Complies with all special dietary needs or restrictions of residents.
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served.
• Monitor all food items for compliance with guidelines for temperature, taste and quality, tastes food to determine quality.
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen; ensuring all equipment is cleaned, working properly, and turned off before closing.
• Assist in inventory.

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 months experience as a prep cook (preferred)
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and colleagues.
• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Ability to speak, read & write English.
• Must be willing to undergo a routine background check including drug screen.
