Job Summary:
We are looking for an LPN to work in a private office setting which requires specialized knowledge, clinical judgment and nursing skills. The LPN is part of a team using patient care skills to meet established practice guidelines, office policies and regulatory standards, under supervision of the physician assistant, nurse practitioner or physician.
Essential Job Functions:
- Places patients in the exam room and documents for physician the reason for visit.
- Measures patients height, weight, blood pressure, pulse and temperature.
- Able to perform hearing and vision tests. Do spirometry and EKGs.
- Gather/enter/update patient information in the EMR.
- Assist physician with special procedures and examinations.
- Collect blood and lab specimens as requested by the physician.
- Prepare and administer vaccines and medications on physician’s orders.
- Obtain results from outside labs, radiology and other doctor’s offices.
- Provide patient education for treatments, medications, diets and physician instructions.
- Stock rooms with medical supplies and medications. Inventory and order supplies.
- Call patients when ordered by the physician.
- Observe patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
- Complete other tasks as directed by physician.
Qualifications:
- Current New York State LPN License
- One year of professional experience
- CPR/AED Certified
- Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records
- Excellent communication, decision making, leadership and problem solving skills
In accordance with the New York State Department of Health (DOH) order that all hospitals and nursing homes “continuously require all covered personnel to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.” Upon receipt of a conditional job offer, candidates who are not already vaccinated must obtain the first dose of the vaccine within three (3) calendar days of job offer and must obtain any subsequent doses in accordance with the vaccine protocol. Physical Demands
May spend a great deal of their professional day walking, standing, moving and manipulating equipment, as well as lifting and moving objects, equipment and supplies. Ability to lift 20 pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients or objects may involve lifting of up to 50 pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds. Requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend or twist their body, as well as visual acuity.
Salary : $50,100 - $63,500
