Job Summary
We are seeking a consistent and dedicated helper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be able to work Friday and Saturday EVERY week. The helper role will provide assistance in upkeep of a storage facility (in office and general maintenance). This role involves assisting with daily operations such as renting, lead inquiries, task list items, maintaining the property with cleaning units, greasing unit doors, leaf-blowing, pressure-washing concrete, etc.
Duties
- Greet and assist customers in person, over the phone, or via email.
- Answer questions about unit availability, prices, and rental agreement/facility policies.
- Provide tours of the facility and help customers choose the right storage unit.
- Process rental agreements.
- Upsell tenant insurance when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate customer records and payment information.
- Perform regular checks to ensure units are secure and property is clean.
- Sweep hallways, clear trash, and report any damages or repairs needed.
- Monitor for pests or water damage and take proper action.
- Check locks and gates throughout the day.
- Monitor security cameras and alarm systems.
- Respond to security alerts or suspicious activity.
- Accept payments in person or over the phone.
- Follow up with late-paying tenants using phone calls, emails, or mail.
- Post notices on delinquent accounts when needed.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and stay productive without constant supervision.
- Comfortable using a computer, email, and basic office software.
- Ability to learn facility-specific management software (e.g., storEDGE, Cubby, etc.).
- Basic problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Good organizational habits and attention to detail.
- Ability to walk the property, climb stairs/ladders, and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
- Willingness to work weekends (Friday and Saturday's - No Sunday's) is REQUIRED.
- Prior customer service or retail experience preferred.
- Experience handling cash, payments, or basic sales is a plus.
- Basic understanding of clerical or administrative tasks.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 18 per week
