What are the responsibilities and job description for the Painter/Loader position at STP?
We are actively looking for a full time Painter/Loader.
It’s an indoor/outdoor role so must be willing to work in all weather conditions. Experience moving/backing trailers, operating a fixed mast forklift and overhead cranes will be a plus.
The following are the basic responsibilities:
- Prepare and properly mix paint and solvents per manufacturer specifications and per job specifications
- Prepare various steel parts for painting (cleaning, griding, etc.)
- Load outbound trucks with prepared steel using overhead cranes and fixed mast forklifts
We will train for this position; however, the following skills would be beneficial:
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication and erection drawings
- Able to safely operate airless spay unit to achieve a proper aesthetic finish
- Ability to use measuring devices such as tape measure with 1/16-inch graduations
- Ability to safely use a variety of hand and power tools including a wood chop saw
- Ability to safely operate fixed mast forklift, shop overhead crane system, including knowledge of equipment weight hoisting limitations
- Ability to safely load and stack materials onto trailers and/or truck flatbeds
- Ability to operate Yard Horse for safe movement of loaded and unloaded trailers
$18-24/hr DOE
