What are the responsibilities and job description for the Central Sterile Processing Technician - Part-Time position at Straith Hospital?
PART-TIME Central Processing Tech: Mondays, Tuesdays, and every other Thursday.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
- Sterile instrumentation processing.
- Terminal cleaning/decontamination of patient care instrumentation and equipment in accordance with Straith standards.
- Biological testing of all surgical sterilization equipment.
- Distribution and stocking of instruments to OR
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Prep & Pack: Re-assemble/wrap instrumentation trays for surgery per recommended practices. Process stock for surgery and CPD.
- Decontamination: Responsible for decontamination of patient care equipment/surgical instrumentation.
- Case carts: Assemble sterile instrumentation/supplies for surgical procedures per OR specifications. Rotation of instrumentation/supplies. Check stock.
- Sterilization: Responsible for practice of safe/efficient/effective sterilization (steam/Steris) procedures. OR/CPD biological testing.
- Coordinate on time preparation of equipment needed with next day scheduled procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor staff.
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required and education/Training needed:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience preferred.
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician optional
